Our Highly Demanded Freelance Services in 1st Quarter of 2021

It is fair to say that the current market demand has been shaped by what the world has gone through in the past 1.5 years (can you believe it’s been 18 months?!) 1 key trend that we have witnessed at CreativesAtWork is the demand for faster, smaller projects compared to bigger campaigns in the past. This could be due to the unforeseeable future ravaged by the virus that causes marketing units and companies unwilling to invest more time, effort and money for bigger campaigns. This key trend is reflected in the business dealings for CreativesAtWork and here’s the breakdown of the demanded creative services in the first quarter of 2021.

Image-based Creative Content Is Top Demand

Graphic design work, ranging from logo design, marketing collaterals to social media posts design, takes the top spot echoing the demand for faster creative content. Social Media Management takes the last spot occupying only 3% of our jobs in the first quarter. However, it is important to point out that our social media management services include more freelancers (from designers to content producers, to copywriters and community managers) over a longer period of time on a monthly retainer basis.

Video Content Is Still A Staple Requirement From Clients

It is heartening to know that the demand for Video Production has still been consistent pre-and post Covid - although what is not reflected here is the value of the projects. Post-Covid, we do see a significant decrease in the budget clients have allocated for video production.

As a freelancer, what does this mean? For CreativesAtWork, the trend is clear.

Focus On Smaller, And Faster Projects

Position yourself to handle smaller projects with a faster turnaround. While there may be clients who are still handling big campaigns, most of the clients are looking for simpler creative content that can speak directly to their customers. Include more of such projects in your portfolio if you can, learn how to work faster and re-look at your rate card to include these smaller (and faster) projects. You will be able to ride this wave and attract a sustainable number of clients.
